Lawn Care and Weekly Mowing: We’ll take care of your lawn and free you from yard-work responsibilities. From mowing and mulching to weed control, we’re the one-stop shop to a beautiful lawn.
Turf Fertilization: Hughes Landscaping’s fertilization process prepares your lawn for each of the Colorado’s seasonal challenges. A granular application of fertilizer will be applied to the turf areas four times within the growing season (March/April, June, August, and October). The last application will be a timed-released fertilizer for the winter. The spring and fall application will be done with the aeration if you signed up for the aeration as well.
Pre-Emergent: One of the most effective ways to control weeds in rock and mulch areas is to apply pre-emergent herbicide in the early spring. Pre-emergent herbicides are chemicals that prevent germinating of annual weed seeds from establishing. This application should be done in March or early April to be effective. Also keep in mind that this application works better if it is watered in shortly after it is applied.
Monthly Weed Control: Our chemical weed control program begins in April and continues on a monthly cycle through September controlling Dandelions and other broadleaf weeds in the turf and other landscaped areas for one low monthly cost. If requested, we will notify you the day before we are coming so pets can be kept in that day.
Spring & Fall Clean-up: Raking, trimming, pruning, planting, cleaning up annual and perennial beds, you name it, we will do it.
Leaf Pick-Ups: As leaves and pine needles begin to fall late October into November and weekly lawn maintenance is coming to an end, we continue to offer leaf/needle pick-ups upon request. When your yard is covered in leaves and you would like them all cleaned up, call us.
Shrub Trimming & Pruning: “Whack, whack – it’ll grow back” is not the approach you want to use with your landscaping. Pruning is one of the most important aspects of keeping your landscape investment healthy. Knowing when and how to prune each variety of plantings in your landscape requires skill and knowledge and good pruning techniques can prevent disease and promote the health of the landscaping.
Core Aeration: This is one of the best ways to improve the overall health and appearance of your yard. Just like you, your soil needs to breathe. Lawn aeration infuses your grass with oxygen.
Aeration is offered in the spring and/or fall. Aeration allows water, air, and fertilizer to move into the root zone promoting healthier, thicker growth, and a stronger, deeper root system. We highly suggest spring aeration which will be done in late March or early April (weather permitting). Fall aeration will be done in October. Fall aeration is needed if your soil is compacted or if your lawn has struggled during the year.
Native Area Mowing (Field Mow): Our rates for mowing native grass areas are per acre and depend on terrain, quantity of trees to go around, length and mowing frequency, and how much string trimming is needed. Call us at (303) 841-7338 for more information.
